Voice, Songwriting, and Programming
Yvette Lorraine is a classically trained soprano who doubles as a pop/soul singer-songwriter from Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Growing up in a full house with six older siblings, Yvette’s parents always had the music flowing and the dance parties going! They were known to host and billet musicians from all over the world, exposing Yvette to countless, diverse musical experiences from a young age.
Yvette started piano and voice lessons with her mentor Dr. Gary Graham, beginning their early history of performing in music festivals, choirs, competitions, and audition tours. Under his guidance, Yvette took to studying at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Vancouver International Song Institute, & the Centre for Opera Studies in Italy, eventually landing at the University of Toronto to complete a BMus in performance voice under the direction of Ms.Elizabeth McDonald.
Now as a writer and recording artist in the heart of Toronto and often Los Angeles, California, “Yvette Lorraine” released her EP “Same Story” this past November just after her single “Where Did You Go” climbed the Top 20 chart on CBC National radio and was nominated for the 2022 East Coast Music “Song of the Year” and “Video of the Year” award.
Yvette is also known for her love of children as a teacher of many at The Graham Academy Centre for performing arts as well as a director and performer for several productions within Gros Morne Summer Music Festival over the last ten years.
